Simple but perfect alarm

Sometimes the hardest programs to find are the ones that do extremely simple tasks efficiently. If an alarm is what you are looking for, however, Good Timing certainly fits the bill.

Good Timing is a very simple but highly customizable alarm clock program. It consists of three screens - new alarm, alarm details and log. The new alarm screen, composed largely of drop-down menus, is easy to configure, allowing you to set a time for the alarm to go off at (for example, at 12.30) or in (in 35 minutes), or to set a timer. You can program Good Timing to you liking, even adding a note to appear when the alarm goes off and choosing your own alarm sound, either picking one from the preset options or adding your own .WAV file.

The log screen records previous alarms, while the alarm details area lets you see all of the alarms set - and a countdown to them - at one glance. Good Timing disappears to the taskbar when minimized, but bear in mind that if you exit it completely, the alarms you have set will not go off. Another thing to remember is to use colons (:) to separate the times you enter - if you don't, Good Timing will interpret them as a date.

One of Good Timing's best features, however, is its command box. This neat option lets you enter a Windows command and, when your alarm goes off, the program will carry it out. This is really useful, for example, if you want your computer to shut down at a certain time, say, after you have already gone to bed.

Good Timing carries out a simple task as efficiently and flexibly as possible.
